Cooler weather makes me want to settle in and bake all the pumpkin things. I tell myself it helps heat up the house when I turn on the oven but the real-honest-to-goodness truth is-I just love to cook up all the fall things; homemade bread and pumpkin goodies.

I’ve been baking every fall since I was 13 or 14. Fall in Michigan is gorgeous; just the right temperature during the day for putting on some cozy socks, donning a cute fall apron, and baking all afternoon. Here in Arkansas, not so much. I make-do by turning the air down really low and pretending it’s a crisp day until cool weather eventually blow in, sometime in late October or early November.
